A very informative and well structured site. Thank you for your strength and compassion for the fellow clansman. I do look forward to returning again and to whom it may interest,I have found a Documentory on the death of death of old king coil, story involving Hollingshed,Boethius and Buchanan dating back to 360 A.D. www.ayrshireroots.com/Genealogy/Historical/Old%20King%20Coil.htm
Warrior, I hope you will have more performances coming up soon. I thought the new ensemble featured on St. Andrews night was magnificent. Keep up the good work…you have the love and support of many!!
Nice logo!!!
Warrior, I admire your ability to remain professional and dignified in the midst of petty controversy surrounding your break from the "Highland Mercenaries". I think most of us fans can judge for ourselvs that true talent is not in a name, but in what you give of yourself. You have entertained us for years now and we are proud of your accomplishments. Stay strong and don't let the envy of a few get you down. A grateful fan.
Don't ever quit - you have something great going on!!!!
Loved your website! Searching for more information about my heritage. Appreciate anyone who can fill in the blanks. Love to all, Lori

I was doing some research, and I hit here mainly because I named by server diarmid.dalbaech.net.... I supposed I was looking to give it a name of it's own, rather than an actual hostname, but I'm glad that I ran across the site. I leave my hostname the way it is.... :) I wish you good health and spirits.
any site that promotes Scottish clans, their histories, and the history of Scotland, should be supported.Cheers

Just found you from the Utilikilts website. Hope our paths cross someday, and we can have a tune or two. I'll add a link from our website, www.celtictexas.com, to yours. Cheers.
Ok Mitchell,I said I would visit and you were right, I like it. And I'll be checking it out again. Thanks, I'll see you and Lisa around the homestead.
Nice to see some effort put into such a cool site! Will come back.
Hey Cambell,
I've seen the photos. Thanks. Oh yes, I found some more photos from Pleasanton ' 99. I will be sending them to you, shortly.
Richard, It was great meeting you and I looking forward to seeing your re-enactments. The evening was quite interesting and educational for me, who hasn't been around this kind of social event. I was a little uncomfortable at first, but met a lot of nice people that educated me on the processions and activities. I think the reason I felt uncomfortable was I had a short skirt on, instead of a long one. Thank you, for reading your poem to all of us, you are very talented. Thanks for your hospitality.
Love your web page, it gave me chills. Hopefully, I'll meet you at the 19th Annual Feast tomorrow.
Clansman of Clan Cian, San Jose, CA
Hope to see you both at the Queen Mary.
I checking out this site. It was really educational. I am proud of my Scottish heritage.
Hey, why has this site got my name as the URL?
I didn't think there would be many Diarmid's in the US
It was great to meet you guys at my brother's wedding. I am totally impressed with your commitment and ability for the task you have set yourselves. Keep it up, you guys are great!!
"Excellent Site"
Great Site! Very well put together and fun to look through. Best of luck to you in all you do!
I want to make my own kilt. Does anyone know where I can find a pattern?
Great Site! Lon & I haven't been to the Pleasonton games in few years. Will have to try for one soon. Marge Campbell
Let's all sing! The Romans come marching two by two. Hurrah. Hurrah. The Romans come marching two by two. Hurrah. Hurrah. The Romans come marching two by two, the Celt's will be there to run them through. And it will all be grand when the lads come marching home.
Can't wait for this new re-enactment to get off the ground! Aaahhhh, the hours and hours and hours I will spend writing the poetry to tell its story.
Delicious!
You have an interesting web site. I am just now getting in touch with my highland scottish roots. I have started writing poetry concerning social justice issues. Much to my surprise I have written a number of highland scottish poems. I am indeed being drawn back to my past. My younger brother and I will be planning a trip to Scotland next year. I'm mainly concerned with visiting the highlands. I was told by this spirit that dwells in me to return home. I would like to share some of this poetry any ideas. Take care, peace and love.
Mitchell suggested I visit, I'm in charge of the fallfest at Tracy Oct. 13th. We would love to be able to work you guys into the schedule but it is only a 4 hour event, so one show is likely all we can do.
My first visit, my lords, and I am most impressed. A delightful collection of information, portraits and links. I shall mark these pages well and return to them often. I commend thee on thy goodly works and do look forward to seeing thee both in person quite soon!!

Hi Mitchell, Great site! Well done! I'm glad I met you at the hardware store this morning. Your site has some great links to sites I did not know existed. Hope to see you at Pittsburg. Kathie aka Jane Gregory.
I really like the site. Keegan and I will have to make plans to see you at the Kings Head. Love and Hugs. Shaila
fantastic!
Greetings from the House of the Earl of Desmond and his representative in the Court of Mary Stuart. While I will be cheering McClellan this season my daughter Brid will be cheering for Campbell. Hope to see you this weekend.
As President of Clan MacLellan, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Michael McLelland to Clan MacLellan. The editor of Think On ran an excellent article on the "Dueling Scottish Duo." I do not know if you are a member of Clan MacLellan, if not we would be more than honored to have you as a member.
Thanks for spreading the word that there is a Clan MacLelan and it is alive and well.
Good luck in all your future endeavors.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this website when you handed me your card at Red Lobster. I must say that I was imprest and I plan on sharing your website with some of my co-workers who are Scottish.
Richard, This is one great site. I've sent it off to my aunt. She is going to love it. I'm heading to the links right now. See you at work tomorrow. Mike. p.s. the 0's in my e-mail address are zeroes.
Love this site. I was able to catch you guys at the Gathering of the Clans Festival at Ardenwood. Had a blast. I working on posting some photos I took (nikicruz.com). Wish you the best. Keep it up
Regarding the battles at Calaveras....Ha! I just loved watching how wound up people got watching you guys work. "Kill him!!" they yelled. "Take his head off!" Folks get soooo into it! (It sounded like the Roman Coliseum.) And you know something else? Rib cages are such targets! And never in my life did I think I'd see REAL blood. Gee, guys you're not really supposed to hurt each other! I nearly fainted! I don't know who these presentations are harder on, you guys swinging the swords or those of us on the sidelines who support you! Hugs to you both!
The site is great, Richard!!! I am glad to see others helping to bring alive the true past.
Nontheless, a little too much Campbell influence for me. :)
See you guys soon. The Donald Lass
Morgan Ian MacCarraig (MacGregor) Born: May 1522 Place: Tigh Mor in Glen Strae Mother: Campbell Father: MacGregor
Born in 1522, Morgan was almost immediately fostered to the Campbell’s in Glen Orchy. There he was raised as one of their own, and when old enough entered service to the Laird as a man-at-arms. In 1540, Morgan left Scotland and went to France and then Germany where he served with McCulloch Campbell as a mercenary. In 1543, Morgan went back to Scotland, only to find the MacGregor’s under letters of “Sword and Fire” with charges of murder and cattle reaving. Morgan then changed his name from MacGregor to MacCarraig, and fled to Ireland. In Ireland he fell into the service of the Lord Earl Hugh O’Donnell, and quickly rose through the ranks to the rank of Captain and War Master. In 1562, The Lord O’Donnell, along with Morgan and several men-at-arms, went to Scotland with the Princess O’Brien, and her retainers, to seek assistance from her cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots. In Scotland, after losing most of his men to an O’Neil ambush as they left Ireland, Morgan contacted his Campbell family, and garnered the assistance of Diarmid Campbell and Filan MacLelland, another foster son of the Campbell’s, for the protection of the Princess. Now in 1562, Morgan travels in the company of the Princess, with his Clan Brothers, Dairmid and Filan, for her protection, and to seek help for his new family, the O’Donnell’s.
Marvelous job putting this web site together. The combination of history and fantasy come alive! Keep up the good work. See you at Calaveras.
I want to thank you and commend you for the work you do. You bring a wonderful and magical story to life. You help people to really embrace their culture and history. Your presentation did transport me back into time from whence I came. Blessings
I find this site both educational and emotional. I was deeply touched by the poetry. Specifically, "Standing Stones" and "Time's Relentless Sentence". The photo's are good but a bit dark. I shall endeavor to attend the 2/17/01 event at The Kings Head Pub. I should like to thank your group, ahead of time, for this glimpse of a culture we would otherwise not experience. One impression remains clear of this site (and re-inactments as well) is the honor displayed. Your venture here may yet bring more than just a remembrance of the past. It may bring honor and all its qualities to the hearts and minds of all those who watch. Planting a seed .... effecting yet another generation with the heart of your ancestors. As with most good things, this site left me wanting more. I shall return and again, I look forward to attending a performance soon.
From an Englishman to a Scot - Good on Yer! Very entertaining and your costumes look great. From one King's Head regular to another - Cheers!
A singing clash of steel, and firey Scottish eyes, all honor at stake. Echoes from the ancient ones, evoke a code now gone. But when sword meets sword, We are all avenged!
(Tis a most exciting spectacle! And no one dies. If you haven't seen this dynamic duo duel -- you've missed a visit to a past just beyond our reach!)
the Re-enactment of the duels stays in your memory for days. Something that you want to share with your friends.
A site as nicely done as are Your 'Battles'

This is a quick note to let you know that I feel you two are the greatest thing to come to the Scottish Community in a very long time. So many of us at the Games try to teach Scotland’s history. I do it in front of the Buchanan tent and use six great claymores as the foundation of the lessons. I will answer any question anyone cares to ask and most often, those questions are on exactly what you two gentlemen present to the public. Specifically, what it truly means to be of Highland blood. You can’t image my untold delight to have people I have just lectured watch you work. Time turns back for them. For a brief period they are in the Scottish Highlands, circa 1306. By striving for so high a level of authenticity, you both teach without trying. By example alone, you fill a badly needed place; the education of the ever burgeoning throngs of people looking back across the ocean to their ancestral beginnings. Keep up the incredible work, gentlemen. Aye yours. Cynthia Philippi, Clan Buchanan Society International.
Looks great, do you mind if I put a link in from my personal website?
It made the hairs on the back of my neck rise up in empathy.
